To understand why your business isn’t growing as fast as you’d like it to, it’s important you understand a concept called the socio-economic ladder.

I’ll first briefly explain what it is and how it affects the growth of your business.

The socio-economic ladder is the measure of a person's influence on his external environment and social position in relation to others, based on income, education, and occupation.

In other words, it’s how people respond to you based on the influence you currently have in your world. For example, when you tell someone to jump, do they say, “why?… or …how high?”

The natural tendency for most network marketers is to focus on prospecting people that are lower than they are on the socio-economic ladder.

But to experience rapid growth in your business you must prospect the people that are on the higher end in relation to where you are on that scale.

I know this idea might bring forth resistance for some of you but the reality is that those on the lower end of the socio-economic scale are less likely to engage in professional or personal learning and therefore will have less of an impact on the growth of your business.

I don’t say this to be rude. It’s not that one person is better than the other and I certainly love to help everyone on my team regardless of their socio-economic status.

But if you want to grow your business fast and live the life of your dreams you’ll need to take on the mindset of a business owner right from the get go.

Don’t wait until the day your successful to start applying these network marketing tips.

NETWORK MARKETING TIPS – LEARN TO RECRUIT UP

The mindset of a business owner is perfect for what we do. Think about it, you don’t need to convince a business owner that they must invest in themselves or their business to see it grow. They already understand these concepts and are sold on these ideas.

There are very specific characteristics that will help you identify and connect with influencers.

Characteristics that entrepreneurs and business owners have:

1. They like to get to the point
2. They’re motivated by money and freedom
3. They understand the power of leverage

Influential entrepreneurs are everywhere: in businesses, classrooms, in churches, in fitness gyms, and communities of all kinds, all over the world.

Maybe you know one. Maybe you are one.

Simply put, influencers are those that, well, influence others to action.

NETWORK MARKETING TIPS – PARTNER UP WITH AN INFLUENCER

So, what do you do when you yourself are not a very influential person?

Ask yourself, WHO in my team is already an influential person?

Leverage your efforts from someone else in your team who’s already an influencer and ask them to work with you and help you recruit other business owners. This is the beauty of network marketing.

Also, commit to learning and increasing your value. Over time this will help you become an influencer and help you relate to others who already are.

So now that you understand why it’s so important to recruit up, I want to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. Make a commitment today to recruit up in your business and teach your team to do the same.
