How to Handle a Crappy Upline in Network Marketing

So you have a crappy upline in Network Marketing and you’re wondering what to do.

Do you quit? Do you join someone else? What the heck do you do?

I just got back from a generic Network Marketing event and I had the chance to talk to a lot of people.

Most of everyone were in different companies, and one conversation I had in particular struck a cord.

I gentleman came up to me and asked me my thoughts on what to do when you feel your upline leadership isn’t helping or providing good leadership.

This isn’t the first time that I’ve gotten this question so BOOM… we needed a video blog on this!

When you sign an Independent Distributor contract, you’re essentially starting your own business. You’re not entering into a partnership.

So think about this…..

If you started an ice cream shop based on the suggestion of your friend, would you expect your friend to lead you through the process?

Probably not.

Might they help you…. Maybe! But are you going to base your success on their ability or disability to help you?

That would be silly right?

AND that’s exactly why it’s silly to base your success on someone else in your Network Marketing Business.

So #1, you got to commit that you’ll succeed NO MATTER WHAT.

If you haven’t committed to yourself…. you will continue to play the blame game. I see it all the time.

#2 Get Resourceful

This is actually how you already found me so congratulations!

Most people that are committed to success will search for training that they feel they need.

Heck, that’s why Eric Worre’s live event sold out in minutes. It’s great generic Network Marketing training where people from all companies have plugged in.

If you’d like some really good Prospecting training (I get asked about this all the time) you can check out the post I did here:

#3 Make a Schedule – And Stick to It!

You’ve probably been told this before, but here I am saying it again!

When I started my business I had very little time in my day to squeeze in my income producing activities, but I MADE the time.

I committed to 5 hours a week, I scheduled those 5 hours in my schedule and I stuck to the plan.

Remember, this was back when I was working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week at my Finance job! When I got a lunch break, I snuck in a few calls, when I got a dinner break, I did a presentation.

I made it work.

If I didn’t stick to my schedule…. I wouldn’t be living the life I get to live today. START TODAY because it will make all the difference tomorrow.

In Conclusion:

You're the person that is going to take your business to where you want it to go. No one else is going to do that for you. I suggest you OWN IT and Rock It starting today!
