Prospecting Tips - Don’t Pre-Judge Your Prospects

Since 2009 I’ve been presenting my business to many different types of people and I’ve learned that it’s important to focus your network marketing recruiting efforts on the busy productive type of person that you would normally cross off your list.

The majority of people, when they first start in network marketing, might find it logical to want to approach people who have a lot of time on their hands.

These people can be tough to inspire and get to work.

These are more than likely the people who like to spend most of their time watching TV and lack drive and self-motivation.

I’m so grateful that the person who introduced me to network marketing didn’t pre-judge me based on how busy I was. At the time, I was working a full-time job working over 40 hours a week.

I literally had no time for any new projects. Which is exactly why I started my network marketing business.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it work, but I was in the habit of getting things done and I wasn’t going to focus on the fact that I didn’t have enough time.

I focused on getting my income producing activities done and made it fit into my already busy life.

My mantra is “Get ‘er done!”

I can’t imagine what my life would be like today if my network marketing sponsor had pre-judged me as someone that was ‘too busy’ to be interested.

Prospecting Tips - It’s Not About Their Schedule, It’s About Their Mindset

You’re probably still wondering why busy people are the best to approach since they’re already so busy. Seems counter-intuitive, right?

Well here’s the deal with busy people and why they’re so great to have on your team.

Busy people get more done because they’re focused on getting things done.

And I don’t mean busy as in watching TV, doing groceries or just socializing for the heck of it… I’m talking about being busy because they’re driven.

On the other hand, when you have all the time in the world, nothing really matters. Urgency isn’t pounding at the back of your brain.

You don’t have to make decisions about priorities and productivity. You can sit and wait and think and plan and procrastinate.

Prospecting Tips – A Good Juggler Can Juggle More

Another reason why busy people make great network marketing prospects is they don’t waste time and they’re in the habit of making the best use of their time.

When you approach a busy person with the benefits of network marketing like leverage and residual income, they’re all ears.

This is because they place a high value on their time.

When you bring the right people into your business you’ll start to see momentum and duplication happen in your business at a much faster pace.

Prospecting Tips – A Case In Point

One of my friends, Jessie, who also works closely with me in my business, had a similar situation happen to her.

We were on the phone with one of her new recruits and before we did a new strategy session with the lady, she ended up telling me that she wasn’t too confident that she would even be interested in joining the business.

Well, it turns out the lady ended up taking action and is completely engulfed in the business. Jessie was blown away.

She was pre-judging her based on how active and busy her life was and now the lady is a total Rockstar.

So, the next time you find yourself pre-judging someone because they live an active and full life, remember that high achievers understand that productivity is critical to their success.
