When I created my first digital product, I thought the goal was simply to get it online and start making sales.
What I learned from experience is that selling digital products successfully requires strategy.
You can have the best product in the world, but if your sales process doesn’t guide buyers to the next logical step, you’re limiting your growth.
The real pros don’t rely on a single product sale.
They build a digital product sales funnel that increases the customer’s lifetime value.
That means designing a simple system that complements the main product and creates more opportunities for the buyer to say yes.
An order bump is one of the easiest ways to increase your revenue without needing any new customers.
It’s a small, related add-on that appears right before checkout and helps your buyer get an even better result from your main offer.
For example, if you’re selling a Canva Template Bundle for Coaches, you could add a nine dollar order bump for matching Instagram Story templates.
This small upgrade makes your customer’s brand look consistent everywhere they show up online and it instantly raises your average order value.
When you think about how to sell digital products online effectively, remember that order bumps are not just upsells.
They are quick, impulse-friendly decisions that make your customer feel like they are getting a complete solution.
Once someone buys your digital product, that is your best opportunity to offer them more value.
An upsell is not about being pushy or salesy.
It’s about providing the next level of support or transformation that naturally complements what they just bought.
When I created my upsells, I always asked myself, “What would help my customer get even faster or bigger results?”
For example, if someone bought a course on going viral on Instagram, an upsell could be a program that teaches how to convert those new followers into paying customers.
These kinds of upsells are often priced at one hundred dollars or more, and they add a tremendous amount of profit while genuinely serving your audience.
When you combine order bumps, upsells, and downsells, you create a complete digital product sales funnel that increases your average order value and builds long-term revenue.
This is the foundation of how to make money online consistently and predictably.
