In this episode of Tanya Aliza TV, I'm going to share with you exactly how to get these conversations started with cold market prospects on social media so you can gain more customers and teammates for your business.

And today since were talking about initiating conversations with cold market prospects on social media, you’re going to need to know how to transition the conversation after the initial contact.

It’s really important that you keep the following in mind when starting conversations on social media, if you want to have social media success.
People LOVE to buy, but they HATE to be sold.
If they feel like you are trying to sell them something…it’s all over from there.
However, if done right, you’ll be able to get them excited about buying from you or joining your team.
Ultimately, your social media prospecting success is all about building relationships with your prospects...even if they don’t buy from you right away. If you start the conversation the right way, you’ll always be able to circle back around with them.
That’s the key and in just a minute I’m going to share with you my 3-step script process that will help you initiate the conversation in a way where your prospects won't feel sold but instead be curious about what you’re offering or doing in business.
But first let’s go over some really important things you want to make sure you NEVER do when starting a conversation with a cold market prospect on social media.
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever...
✓Share any business or product information in the first message
✓Go right into the sales pitch in the first message
✓Use copy paste messages when you are messaging people
✓Sound spammy or scammy
Just think about this for a moment…
If a complete stranger were to start a conversation with you on Social Media…what would pique your curiosity into continuing a conversation with them?
Would a link to their company website or product store feel warm and fuzzy right off the start?
I don’t think so!
Your #1 job is to pique curiosity and frame what you have as something that can help them or give them something that they really want.
So now I'm going to give you some scripts to help you with your social media prospecting but I want to encourage you to make them your own and put your own personality to them.
You want to sound like YOU when your having a conversation with someone on social media so make sure add your personality to them.
Before I show you how to start a conversation I want you to remember these 3 things:
1. Give a genuine compliment
2. Relate to your prospect, if you can
3. Ask a question
Without these 3 key things you won't have as much success in your social media prospecting process and your prospects will most likely just ignore your messages so make sure you keep this top of mind every time you initiate a conversation.
Ok, so here’s an example of how an initial conversation might look like:
"Hey Nicole, I saw your comment in the female entrepreneurs group here on Facebook about how important it is to be the one to stay home with your kids. I totally loved how you said it's so important to be the one to raise your kids vs having an nanny or daycare do it. I just loved how you expressed so much compassion in your message and it truly resonated with me as I have two kids of my own, ages 7 and 9, and I can't tell you how precious it is to be able to be the one to be with them all the time. So, how many kids do you have and what do you currently do, if you don't mind me asking? Super great to meet you and looking forward to hearing back.”
So as you can see, in my, example, initial message above all that I’m doing is:
1. I’m giving a genuine compliment
2. I’m relating to my prospect
3. I’m asking a question at the end to initiate conversation
In my experience, this is the key formula to initiating a conversation that will lead to a relationship and interest in what you do and offer.
You can also initiate conversation and relate to them by checking out their Social Media profile online.
This will help you see if they live near you, their hobbies, interests, what they do for a living etc… This will help you find something that you both have in common so you can relate to them.
This is a really powerful way to start these conversations and you will get a better response, if you start them off this way.
Just remember that the goal of the initial conversation with a cold market prospect on social media is to start the conversation…That's it!
It’s not for you to share your business links or to ask them if they are open to a side project.
