Let’s talk about the tools you need to create & sell your digital product or course — because spoiler alert: it’s not about buying the fanciest, most complicated, wallet-draining platforms out there. (Looking at you, Kajabi, Skool, SamCart and Stan).
If you’ve ever felt like you need a PhD in tech just to sell a simple digital product, you’re not alone. Most creators end up duct-taping together overpriced tools they barely use, and then wonder why their sales feel harder than doing algebra while blindfolded.
That’s why in this episode, I’m cutting through the noise and showing you the real tools you need to create & sell your digital product or course without the headaches. You’ll laugh, you’ll nod along (because you’ve probably been there), and by the end, you’ll know exactly how to set yourself up with a system that works — and actually makes sense for creators like us.

17:24 If you’re ready to stop overpaying for tools that don’t serve you
Most creators say “tool overwhelm” is one of the main reasons they stall out. On top of that, the average creator spends between $400–$1,000 a month on tech tools they don’t even fully understand or use.
That’s why in this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the tools you need to create & sell your digital product or course without going broke or burning out.
Skool has gained buzz as a community-first platform, but the fine print tells a different story.
On their free plan, creators pay a staggering 10% in processing fees — essentially giving away one-tenth of every sale. Compare that to Stripe, which typically charges around 2.5 to 2.9%, and you can see how costly this gets fast.
Even on Skool’s $99/month plan, fees only look better at first glance. You’ll pay 2.9% up to $900 in sales, but once you cross that threshold, your costs climb higher. Translation? The more you sell, the more you lose.
Not to mention all the other tools you need to purchase to actually sell what you create on Skool… like and email marketing system, sales funnels etc.
Kajabi is marketed as an all-in-one system, but here’s what most creators don’t find out until it’s too late: it limits your funnels and contacts unless you’re paying for the highest tier, which runs between $149–$399 per month.
For new entrepreneurs or content creators, that price tag feels more like a mortgage payment than a business expense.
If you’re looking for Kajabi alternatives, you’re not alone. More and more creators are realizing that they don’t need to pay premium pricing for these features anymore.
SamCart and Stan is famous for one thing: checkout pages. And yes, they are slick and can help increase conversions.
But let’s be honest — if your entire business plan relies on having a nice checkout page, you’re in trouble.
You still need a member’s area, automation, email marketing, and an actual funnel to bring people in.
That’s why creators are actively searching for SamCart alternatives.
They need a full system that goes beyond the transaction and actually helps build a sustainable digital product business.
Here’s where most creators go wrong: they think they need 10 different tools just to get started.
A design app here, a funnel builder there, an email system somewhere else — before you know it, you’re paying for so many subscriptions that your “passive income” feels anything but passive.
So, what are the actual affordable tools for online course creators and entrepreneurs who want to keep things simple? Let’s break it down.
A design tool like Canva (or even Google Docs) – For your graphics, slides, workbooks, and even video recording.
A secured member’s area – So your customers log in and access what they’ve paid for (and feel like they’re getting premium value).
A high-converting sales page – Not just a checkout form. You need space to show the transformation and value behind your offer.
A checkout with order bumps and upsells – Because leaving money on the table is not a business strategy.
Automation flows – To onboard customers, deliver products, and make more sales while you sleep.
An email marketing system – To promote, nurture, and keep sales flowing consistently.
A lead and sales funnel – To turn your followers into buyers without you chasing them down daily.
Miss one of these and you’re basically building your digital product business on quicksand.
Here’s the part nobody tells you: even the so-called “all-in-one” platforms make you stitch together extra tools if you want the full setup. That’s where overwhelm and overspending creep in.
The truth is, you don’t need a $1,000-per-month tech stack to sell your knowledge online. You need the right tools that were actually designed with creators in mind.
After selling more than $12M in digital products, I learned one simple truth: success doesn’t come from having the fanciest platform, it comes from having the right tools working together in a system you can actually use.
That’s why I built Digital Creator Studio — it’s everything I just outlined in one affordable, creator-friendly system. Funnels, sales pages, checkout with order bumps, secured member’s area, email marketing, automation, even AI to help speed up your content creation.
It’s built for creators, by a creator who’s been exactly where you are.
Just the real tools you need to create & sell your digital product without burning yourself out.
