Which leads to a lot of questions on how to brand yourself in network marketing properly.

So…why is personal branding important and what’s the most important thing to know, if you’re wanting to learn How To Brand Yourself in Network Marketing.
YOU are the brand, and YOU are the expert. Not your product or company.
Because here’s the deal…companies come and go…but you last forever!
All the experience and knowledge you gain while prospecting, recruiting and team building cannot be taken away from YOU.
This is why every network marketing leader out there has a personally branded online presence…
Even if they’re not teaching personal branding or online marketing methods and they’re teaching traditional network marketing recruiting methods…they’re actively branding themselves online.
This is why I’m a BIG advocate of building a personal brand and I do lots of training on how to brand yourself in Network Marketing.
Something to remember is that everyone starts somewhere. Meaning, we all started at ground zero.
Everyone once had Zilch…nada...no followers or personal brand
BUT…
That’s exactly where you need to start from and it’s never too late to get started.
I know personally for me, had I not started building my personal brand back in 2010 I would not have the same amount of success that I do today.
So how exactly do you build your brand the right way when you are first getting started?…
In network marketing, there are two ways you could go…product or business.
Do you want to lead with the products that you sell…or do you want to lead with the business?
There's no right or wrong answer here…it's really all about what you're most passionate talking about.
Most people want to build a network marketing team so they think they have to lead with the business…but that's not true at all.
You don’t need to lead with the business to build a team.
If you lead with the products and you focus on building a customer base you’ll always have some customers who will have a genuine interest in the business because they love the products so much.
I know a lot of leaders who were first customers and then became interested in building a network marketing business because of the products.
If you’re a little confused as to what to lead with…do this exercise.
I want you to write down what you're most excited talking and creating content around.
Remember, there's no right or wrong answer here.
And to help you more with this, here’s an activity I do inside my course The Ultimate Branding Blueprint where one of the things I do in the course is help people pick their brand direction.
Here’s the activity:
I want you to think about if you had to wake up every day and create content on social media…"what would you enjoy talking about most?"
For example, if you're in a health and wellness company, do you love talking about fitness, nutrition, exercise….or are you more passionate talking about freedom, lifestyle, marketing, business type information?
If you had to choose only one which would you want to talk about everyday?
In the long run, you’ll want to focus on what you enjoy the most because your audience will sense your passion and YOU have to love what you're talking about, if you're going to do this for the long-term.
This is a question I hear all the time…
A great example of how to do this is my girlfriend Lauren’s personal branding strategy that she’s using to build her team.
Lauren’s a great friend of mine who works with me in my network marketing team and her background even before network marketing was health, nutrition, and fitness.
So obviously, Lauren naturally gravitates towards talking about all things health, nutrition, and fitness.
And since she’s in a health and wellness company…it’s congruent with what she most loves learning and talking about.
So she’s decided to build her brand all around fitness, nutrition, recipes and helping women feel good in their bodies.
But she also knows that other health enthusiasts are going to be tuning in for her content so she’s created a page on her blog that says, "Hey, if you’re interested in learning more about how I’ve monetized my passion for health and wellness, fill out this form below and I’ll be happy to chat with you and show you what I’m doing."
So basically, this is a simple way to talk about your products and then transition to recruiting and team-building.
Just think about this…
There are a lot of people who have the same passions as you or are learning more about what you have to share and then become passionate about it…
and a lot of them will be very interested in learning how they can monetize their passions as well.
