I was having a conversation with a new teammate and after our getting started training was done they asked me, “Tanya, how do I actually start the conversation with my prospects, and how do I do it in a way where they’re genuinely interested in hearing more about my product, service or business?”
And then I realized that since I’ve been doing this for so long, it’s no longer a struggle for me. But this is a real struggle for a lot of people when they get started in network marketing.

Okay… so starting conversations with prospects is not a one size fits all scenario.
Your dynamic with each and every individual that you talk to is going to be different.
But I want you to remember that the more direct and to the point you are…. the better.
Network Marketing Invite Scripts – Lead with the product or the business?
For those of you wondering, “Tanya, should I lead with the product, or should I lead with the business,”
My answer is, It really doesn’t matter, just pick one direction and go with it.
But if you’re really stuck on whether to lead with the product or business then I’ll leave an episode in the show notes below that will help you figure out if you should lead with the product or the business.
Network Marketing Invite Scripts – Decide how you’ll communicate
Once you’ve decided on leading with the business or the products, you’ll want to pick the means of communication in which you normally use to communicate with your prospect.
So if you’re typically used to texting the individual, send a text. If it’s a voice message on messenger send a voice message on messenger.
Whatever it is that you normally do to communicate with that person, use it.
Network Marketing Invite Scripts – Get excited
Now here is a really powerful tip for you, get excited!
How the heck do you expect your people to get excited about what it is that you’re exposing them to if you’re not excited?
So however your level of excitement is naturally to you, without sounding weird of course, show it and they’re going to follow the confidence in your voice as well.
Confident excitement is absolutely key when getting ready to approach your prospects and start the conversation with them.
Okay, so we’re going to get into some scripts, but you guys know I don’t love scripts because sometimes they make you sound like a robot.
So what I want you to do is promise me if after I give you these scripts you use them in your most authentic voice, okay?
So you put your spin on them, and you don’t verbatim it.
Use your personality, use your pizazz, and use these as a foundational guide.
Network Marketing Invite Script Example #1 – Lead with the business
All right, so let’s get into it.
I’m going to give you two examples, one if you lead with the business and one if you lead with the product.
The first is a real life example that I used to enroll one of my top producers on my team.
In this real life example I was leading with the business.
I used this script with my neighbour Lauren, who also happens to be one of my besties.
I knew that when I started with the company that I’m with that she would totally love the products because it was right up her alley.
I also really wanted to work with her so that we had an excuse to hang out more and make some money together.
So as I approached Lauren and here’s what I did.
Normally, Lauren and I communicate all different ways, but I was super serious about this, and I really wanted her to hear it in my voice.
So like I said, I don’t like to say things word for word and sound like a robot when I’m talking to my people, but this is pretty much what I said.
I said, “Hey Lauren, the reason why I’m calling is because something very exciting, crossed my path that got me immediately thinking of you. I know you’re super smart and savvy when it comes to people and business, and I think this is definitely something you would want to see.
I have no idea if you’re going to get as interested or as excited as me, but I think you just might. How soon could you carve out 15 or 20 minutes? You’ve got to see this.”
There’s a lot of psychology built into what I said and I want to break down for you so you understand why this works so well.
#1 – I got right to the point – “The reason why I’m calling is.” We didn’t do a lot of chit chat. We can do that another time, right? We’ve got a mission here.
#2 – I used curiosity – “Something very exciting cross my desk,” there’s curiosity there, right?
#3 – I Inserted a genuine compliment – “I immediately thought of you because,” and then I inserted a genuine compliment. She is super smart, and she is very savvy when it comes to people and business.
#4 – I spoke with confidence and certainty – I said “I think this is something you definitely,” I didn’t say, “I think you might want to check this out maybe kind of.” I was like, “You definitely want to check this out
#5 – I made room for a way out – “I have no idea if you’re going to get as excited as me.” So there was a little bit of an out, it wasn’t super pouncy.
#6 – I asked for the next step – “How soon could you carve out 15 or 20 minutes? You’ve got to see this. So there’s a lot of curiosity in that, but there’s also a closing line like, “Hey, here’s the next step. How soon can you carve out 15 or 20 minutes?”
So that is one way that I would lead with the business with your prospects.
Mind you, Lauren was a warm contact of mine, but you’ve got a lot of warm contacts that you can dive into.
Network Marketing Invite Script Example #1 – Lead with the product
So let’s say you want to lead with the products.
Maybe you know somebody would be really interested in the product or it just feels better to you to lead with the product.
I’ve got a couple of products scripts in that script book that I’m giving you and I want to share one of them with you here.
So let’s say I’m calling my friend Mary.
Here’s what I’d say, “Hey Mary, the reason why I wanted to reach out is I came across a cool health product that I’m really excited about. I think you might really love it as much as me or you might know some people that might love it.
I’d love to share it with you. How soon could you carve out 10 or 15 minutes to check it out? I think you’re definitely going to want to see the power of what this health product is doing for people. If you see value, I want to share my story with you on how it specifically helped me.”
Now obviously if you know more about the person that you’re prospecting, or you’re reaching out to, you can share more specifics with them as to why they would probably find interest in the product.
For example, if you knew your product could help people sleep better at night, and you knew that they were having trouble sleeping at night, you could be specific and say that when you reach out to them.
Network Marketing Invite Scripts – In Closing
This is just one script example of how to lead with the product.
I’ve included several scripts in the Script Book that I know you’re totally going to love.
They absolutely work. I know because these are the scripts that I use myself to prospect and recruit people into my team.
