If there’s one question I get a lot it’s, “Tanya, what Network Marketing company would you recommend I build or join?”
My answer is always…"It depends".
And what exactly does it depend on?
It depends on what the person is passionate about and what their goals are.
There is no one size fits all…
BUT there are companies with certain types of products that make building a stable residual income with a whole lot easier.
This isn’t something I was aware of until many years of being in network marketing…and I just didn’t know what I didn’t know.
Had I understood this, I would have made so much MORE money in my network marketing career.
So now I want to help you find the BEST network marketing company for YOU if your goal is to build long-term true residual income for yourself and your family.
When someone asks me which is the best network marketing company to join I typically ask them these 3 questions:
1. What are you passionate about?
2. Do you want to build the business offline or online?
3. What are your current family and friends into? What would you get excited talking about?
In my opinion, it’s very important that you are in alignment with the products and company you represent.
If you aren’t passionate about your products or services people will pick up on it and it will be really hard for you to build your business.
But once you know the answer to these questions you’ll want to make sure your company meets the following criteria.
To build a successful network marketing business you need to have these two things in place:
1. You need to have a really awesome product even beyond it having a comp plan attached to it.
2. You need a consumable product.
If you want to build a solid residual income, you’ll want to keep those two things top of mind when looking to join a company.
If a network marketing company has a product that is so good that people would buy even if it didn’t have a comp plan attached…then you’ve struck gold.
This is the BEST way to build long-lasting true residual income.
You’ll also want it to have consumable products.
Think about this…
What products do people need or want to consume on a monthly basis?
This is what creates stable residual income.
When you have a consumable product that needs to be replaced month after month you don’t need to convince your customers to order again.
Does your company have a diverse product line that will help you build true residual income?
I understood the importance of having a diverse product line late into my network marketing career.
If somebody falls in love with one of your companies products, you ’ll want them to have multiple avenues that they can go down to spend money with you.
If it doesn’t… you’ll be capped out on how much money you can earn with your customers.
I used to think that being a part of a company that offered a service instead of a whole array of products was the best route because I didn’t need to explain the product.
And although it might be easier it’s not necessarily more profitable… which means I was capped at how much volume I could accumulate per customer in my team.
Now, I’m in no way knocking on service-based network marketing companies.
There are many amazing services being offered through network marketing companies.
But when you’re looking at your options in network marketing I really believe it’s important to understand the pros and cons of having a diverse product-based company vs a company that offers a service.
And just to be real and transparent here…
When I was taking a look at the company I’m now with and the diverse product line they have…I started to feel a bit overwhelmed thinking I had to know all the ingredients and products offered.
But what I experienced actually surprised me.
Here’s what I found:
I learned that when you lead with one or two products and people fall in love with that product, they go on to try other products available from your company.
When there are so many different products that people can use and consume… it all contributes to the organizational volume in your organization.
For example, if I was to take my entire organization that I have right now and divide it in half I would still be twice as profitable than the previous company I was in.
Why?
I had only 1 service to offer…meaning I had to work twice as hard to create the volume I currently have with the company I’m with today.
I have a smaller organization but I’m much more profitable than when I was building with my previous company.
Now please understand that I’m not discouraging anyone from joining a service based company.
If you’re in alignment with that service and passionate about what it does for others than you can create success in that company as well.
Something else you’ll want to consider is… the difference between a direct sales company vs network marketing.
I’m not trying to start a controversy here…but while many people think that direct sales is the same thing as a network marketing company…they kind of are but they have some big differences.
There’s a lot of really great products in direct sales.
But typically… repeat sales don’t happen as often as in network marketing with products that can be consumed on a monthly basis.
For example, if you sell something like Tupperware or jewelry…in order to sell those items again, you have to put forth the effort to get a repeat sale from existing customers.
You can’t sell Tupperware or jewelry every single month to the same customer…there’s only so much Tupperware someone can use.
You may want to consider whether that business model aligns with your goals and if you want to create stable residual income, this might not be the best avenue for you.
If your goal is to create leveraged true residual income, you may consider taking a look at a company that has really good products that people will buy even if it didn’t have a comp plan attached to it.
Considering partnering with a company that has a diverse line of products that customers can add to their orders.
Last, but not least, consider a company that sells consumables that your customers will want and need to buy over and over again without you having to re-sell them on buying the products over and over again.
