Before you learn my objection handling tips, I want to first show you how to prevent this specific objection from happening in the first place.

Above everything, the most important thing you need to have is a resolve to develop an unwavering faith in your business, products or services.

If you don’t have a strong belief in what you are doing and what you represent, then no matter what you say to your prospects they will sense that as weakness and make it hard for you to navigate through their objections.

So, make sure you develop that belief first, as that is probably the most important thing you can transfer over to your prospects when sharing your business.

Now let’s dive right into my 3-step strategy to navigating the “pyramid scheme” objection

Objection Handling Tips – Get Familiar With Their Definition Of A Scam

When someone asks you if you’re business is a scam or a pyramid scheme, ask them, “how do you mean?” or “what’s a pyramid scheme?”

You want to know exactly where they’re coming from. Don’t get defensive or argumentative, that won’t get you anywhere.

Once they share with you what they’re definition of what a scam or pyramid scheme is, then you can go ahead and politely educate them.

Objection Handling Tips – Education Is Key

The majority of the time, people don’t know what exactly a pyramid scheme is.

You can educate them by saying something like this: “A pyramid is strictly a money game and has no basis in real commerce.

Normally, there's no product involved at all, just money exchanging hands. On the other hand, a legitimate business is based on providing people with real products they need and want at a fair market value price.

While some people do make a lot of money through network marketing, their financial gain is always the result of their own dedicated efforts in building and training an organization that sells real products and services.”

Objection Handling Tips  -In Closing

Once you’ve shared with your prospect the data on how network marketing is a legitimate, thriving business, you transition them towards the closing questions.

Ask them, “If we were a scam or illegal pyramid scheme, don’t you think we would have been shut down by now?”

Then pause and let them answer the question themselves.

It will help them get a better understanding of how illogical it is to think that an industry that is growing and thriving the way that network marketing is, would still be allowed to operate across so many countries today if indeed it was an illegal pyramid scheme or a scam of some sort.

And then you can gracefully transition into a closing phrase where you ask them, “Is there anything else you need to know before we get you started?”

However, if your prospect is still adamant in not seeing that network marketing is a legitimate, honest and fair business model, then just let them go and wish them all the best.

You don’t need to convince anyone of anything and you don’t NEED any one person to join you or buy your products.

The world is full of many people who will be able to see a great opportunity in your business, products or services.
