Prospecting Tips – Why Setting Up A Vendor Booth Is A Waste & What I Do Instead

In this Episode, I share my best-prospecting tips on how to get the most out of trade shows and expos so you walk away with quality prospects to talk to without wasting your time or money.

Should you rent a table or booth at a Tradeshow, Expo or Fair for your network marketing business?

I’m sure this might seem like a great way to acquire new customers and teammates for your business.

However…

I don’t think renting a booth or a table at a Trade Show or Expo is a good idea if you’re looking to acquire quality customers or teammates.

In this episode of Tanya Aliza TV, I’m going to explain why and I’m also going to share with you an alternative to this strategy so you walk away with quality prospects to talk to without wasting time or money.

Prospecting Tips – Should you go to Trade Shows and Expos?

“Tanya, should I rent a booth or a table at my upcoming Trade Show or Expo?”

That’s a question I get all the time from teammates and people who reach out to me.

My answer?

🔷As a guest YES!

❌As a vendor NO!

Here’s the reality:

You're going to waste a lot of money and time in setting up to be presenting or sampling to people who just aren’t serious about your products, service or business.

Prospecting Tips – If you go, go as a guest

Now, this doesn’t mean that you can’t go to a Trade Show or Expo to get exposure.

But instead of going as a vendor you should go as a guest.

You’ll want to talk to and prospect the vendors that are set up and have rented a booth.

It’s a great way to meet other business owners like yourself and network with them.

Prospecting Tips – Think of this from a team building perspective

Think about the mindset of the people who pay to setup vendor booths:

✔They’re already Entrepreneurs
✔They’re already committed to spending time & money on growing their business

Chances are…if you ask them if they’re open to an additional stream of income outside of what they’re currently doing they might be pretty open to it.

These people are already primed and perfect for cold market prospecting and having a conversation with them about your business, products or service.

The best people to prospect are business owners and professionals.

In the many years of being in business, I’ve learned that the people who already have a business don’t need a lot of explaining or convincing when it comes to starting a business or supporting other small business owners.

These are your ideal prospects.

Prospecting Tips – Pay authentic compliments

One really big tip to keep in mind is to compliment these business owners as your approaching them and having conversations with them.

And that’s exactly what you want to do…have conversations, network, create relationships and get their contact details so you can stay in touch.

Your just making friends at these events…that’s all.

If you do it that way they’ll be open to re-connecting with you and hearing about what it is that you do.

Prospecting Tips – In closing

So think about this.

Instead of spending time and money to set up a booth and hoping people will be interested in your business, products or service…you can go as a guest and start networking with people who are exactly who you would want as a teammate or customer for your business.

Just make sure you are giving genuine compliments and come from a place of creating relationships.

You never know if you’ll meet your next Rockstar at one of these shows 😉
