Effective Time Management Tips - Are you Reactive or Proactive?
I've been building my network marketing business since 2010 and I've learned a lot of effective time management tips and exactly what separates productive entrepreneurs who are constantly hitting their income goals from those who aren’t.
They generally fall into two groups:
- The Reactive group
- The Proactive group
The reactive group is constantly putting out fires.
For example, when they wake up they’re typically doing reactive stuff like:
- answering emails
- replying to FB messenger messages
- replying to posts they’ve been tagged on
- replying to text messages
- tending to the kids
- doing team stuff
- Instagram feed
This is not how you want to start your day.
It’s operating from a place of being reactive instead of proactive.
In this day and age of what I call Insta world where everything is pinging, ringing and dinging to get our attention and demanding our time…you’ll definitely, want to get a handle on this NOW before it's too late.
On the other hand, the people who are proactive operate completely different and I will show you exactly how to do this so that you aren’t spending your day putting out fires or being reactive to everything around you.
Effective Time Management Tips – Plan your work - work your plan
Good time management strategies start with planning ahead.
We only have so much time in our day, so using it effectively is incredibly important to me and it should be for you too.
Everyday I create a plan for my day and I do this with intent and purpose.
To help me with this I use a physical paper planner that allows me to view my days, weeks and months.
So every Sunday night I block out at least 20 minutes and plan my entire week out in advance.
This is extremely important to do especially, if you’re working a job while your building your business.
You’ll need to see what windows of time you have available and block out that time on your planner to do the money making activities for your business.
Effective Time Management Tips - Sacred Moments
Once your done carving out the time you have available to work on your money making activities….you’ll want to create what I call “Sacred Moments”.
Sacred moments is when your family, friends and those close to you know that the times you have blocked off to work your business are sacred and you are 100% focused on working your business and not to interrupt you.
Of course, they won’t know this unless you communicate it to them.
So make sure you first find those pockets of time in your calendar and then let them know so they won’t be interrupting you when your working.
This is an important step in becoming proactive with your time and life.
Effective Time Management Tips – The Miracle Morning
So when I start my day I don’t jump straight into text or Facebook message or email.
My morning starts off intentional and I actually learned how to dial this in after reading a book called The Miracle Morning. I’ve talked a lot about his book in other blog posts and my videos and I just can’t recommend it enough.
This book will help you lay the foundation for you to create success in your day.
It will literally change your life.
Effective Time Management Tips - In Closing
Being reactive in your business and life will keep you stuck in a loop of never-ending emails or instant messages from text or social media.
You will never see an end to these messages or things that want your attention on demand.
If you can, put your phone on airplane mode when your working and shut down all of your Social Media notifications so you won’t get disturbed or interrupted when you are doing your money making activities.
Your business will thank you for it!
