One thing is for sure.
If social media influencers are not crushing it on social media – it’s no accident.
It’s because there's a strategy behind all the engagement, followers, and sales that are happening for influencers.
Something I see happening a lot is that even the most successful top influencers are making mistakes that are causing them to leave money on the table.
We don’t like wasting $$$ here!!!
So, I want to make sure you are set up correctly on social media and that you aren’t making any of these mistakes.
Don’t worry, if you feel like you’ve been committing these mistakes, I’m going to show you how to fix them.
My influencer marketing strategy – Mistakes to avoid

Mistake #1 – You’re not collecting your follower’s contact information
Life is busy and we ALL get interrupted throughout our day.
Because of this, even the most influential people lose their audience in a sea of social media and real-life busyness.
So, as tempting as it may seem to send your followers directly to a link to purchase your products, or to immediately sign up with your program, you have to make sure you FIRST capture the contact information of your audience.
Again – capture the contact information of your audience.
If a follower gets side tracked or distracted in the middle of purchasing your product, checking out your post, or going to your link you can still stay in communication with them.
Mistake #2 – You’re redirecting your audience and traffic away from you
It’s tempting to send your audience directly to your affiliate products.
…but if you keep redirecting your audience to other brands and accounts, you’re basically sending your audience AWAY from your own business.
UH-OH! No, we don’t want that.
You should always build your brand and email list first before sending your audience elsewhere.
This is how I was able to build a 7-figure business.
Even before I had any of my own products to sell, I made sure that before sending them over to buy the products or services I was promoting, that I was collecting their contact details first.
My influencer marketing strategy – Single Most Important Thing I Did For My Business
Build an email list… and build it FAST.
How? simple, A freebie funnel.
I’m not even kidding when I say this is the single most important thing I did for my business.
A freebie funnel is basically something you provide for free that is related to the product or service that you are selling.
Your followers that are interested in this freebie will provide their contact information in order to get it.
Sort of like an exchange.
Once they give you their information you can then direct them to your product or service.
To give you an example, the very first freebie I created was in 2010 and it was for a health and wellness product that helps with inflammation.
What I did was create a free guide on “The Ten Foods You Must Eliminate Immediately and Avoid In Your Diet That Wreaks Havoc on Inflammation In Your Body”
My posts on my social media accounts would always end in me recommending that people go and get my freebie and download it.
A key point in this is that the people who opted in for this freebie were people already interested in that specific benefit, and yes, you guessed it right! It was the same benefit my product was providing.
Coincidence? Not at all!
You can say they were the perfect prospects for my business and I now had their name, email, and sometimes even their phone number thanks to my freebie.
Once they were sent my free guide, they were taken to a next page where I recommended my product or services to them.
Some people would buy right away, and those that didn’t, well, now I had them on my email list.
This meant I could easily follow up with four more emails in a span of 4 days.
The best part of all this? Everything was running on autopilot!
I had a perfect automated follow up that was warming up cold prospects and converting them to sales.
I don’t want you to lose any more interested prospects in your world.
You worked extremely hard to get their attention so don’t just send your audience somewhere else.
Have a way to collect their information and never let them forget about you.
